Globalpetvillage is all about pets. It is a fun, family friendly online community where pet owners and those who care about pets can learn, share and exchange information about pets. You can upload pet pictures, write diaries about your pet, participate in forums, join or create your own neighborhood and much more. Registration is free.  

      Each major pet category is represented by its own village as follows:

      Doggy Village for Dogs

      Kitty Village for Cats

      Birdy Village for Birds

      Fish Village for Fish

      Reptile / Amph Village for Reptiles and Amphibians

      Small Animal Village for small pets such as Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters and Gerbils.

What is a neighborhood?

As a registered member of the Globalpetvillage, your pet has several privileges. One of those privileges is having its own neighborhood.  A neighborhood is a common interest group within a village. Any registered member of a village can join an existing neighborhood or create their own. Once a neighborhood is created, other members can be invited in order to build up the neighborhood. The registered pet that starts a neighborhood is called the “Village Head” and is responsible for operating the neighborhood.

What is the role of a Village Head?

The Village Head is responsible for making sure his or her neighborhood is well organized and operates smoothly. A Village Head plays the typical role of a group moderator, coordinating activities and communications within the neighborhood. If you do not like to play the role of a moderator, do not create a neighborhood. Rather, you should find an existing one that you can join. However, you do not need to be an expert in moderating a group in order to be a good Village Head. All you need is the enthusiasm and dedication to having a great neighborhood. Some of the basic responsibilities of a Village Head include:

• Creating the neighborhood.
• Set up the policies and rules by which the neighborhood will be conducted (rules will of course be in line with all Globalpetvillage rules).
• Spread the word about your neighborhood.
• Moderate the neighborhood forum.
• Send communications to members of the neighborhood as necessary.
